10G XFP Series
The 10G XFP series is the family this site leads with, and it carries ten published titles beyond the fully specified LR model: XFP BIDI LR, XFP BIDI ER, XFP BIDI 60km, XFP BIDI ZR, XFP SR, XFP ER, XFP ZR, XFP 110km, XFP CWDM and XFP DWDM. Those titles are listed here at series level. Their names are published, but no performance figures have been published for them on this site, and none are invented here. A name is not a specification, and this site does not treat it as one, even where a name contains a familiar distance or wavelength hint.
The XFP format is an older 10G format than SFP+, and that age is part of its value. A large installed base of routers, switches and transport equipment still uses XFP slots, and those slots cannot take an SFP+ module. For an operator maintaining such equipment, the question is not which format is newest but which format fits the slot, and this series answers that question for single-mode and multimode 10G links across a wide spread of variants. The guide comparing XFP and SFP+ on this site explains the format difference in full.
The fully specified model in this series is the XFP LR, whose detail page states a 10G rate, a 1310nm wavelength, a 20km reach over single-mode fiber, a rate range of 9.95 to 11.1Gb/s, a duplex LC connector, power consumption below 2.5W and a 0 to 70 degree Celsius operating range, with applications in SDH, 10GBASE-LR and LW, and 10G Fibre Channel. Those figures belong to the LR model alone. They are not shared with the SR, ER, ZR, BIDI, CWDM or DWDM titles in this series, and a buyer who needs figures for one of those titles should ask for them during the inquiry.
The variant families inside the series cover distinct jobs. Bidirectional variants send and receive over a single fiber strand, which halves the fiber needed for a link. Wavelength-division variants allow several channels to share one fiber, which matters where fiber is scarce. The longer-reach variants extend the family toward links that run well beyond a campus. Each of those jobs needs its own confirmation, because the variant name alone does not state the wavelength, the reach or the fiber type, and this site does not fill those gaps by assumption.
Before ordering, confirm quantity, price and delivery time during the inquiry. Certificates are available upon request. If you need figures for a title in this series that has no detail page, state the title, the application — Ethernet, SDH or Fibre Channel — and the link it will serve.
